This course is especially beneficial for Audiologists who are looking to complement their existing wax removal methods with irrigation skills.

Importantly, this course has been designed to comply with the current British Society of Audiology (BSA) Practice Guidance in Aural Care (Ear Wax Removal), co-written by one of our own tutors, Sarah Riches.
This course is aimed at:-
Audiologists already skilled in otoscopy and who may already be performing wax removal by other methods and wish to add irrigation to their service. Delegates must be working in the field of Audiology as a Registered Audiologist or under the supervision of a Registered Audiologist, or in a related medical role e.g. ENT or practice nurse.

By the end of the course, you will be equipped to:
· Accurately recognise and describe ear anatomy, physiology, and common ear conditions, applying this knowledge to enhance your aural care practices.
· Clearly define and expand your scope of practice in aural care, with the ability to recognise situations that necessitate referrals.
· Critically evaluate and choose between different types of equipment, understanding their operating principles and any contraindications associated with wax removal procedures.
· Assess the effectiveness of various cerumenolytics in conjunction with irrigation techniques.
· Confidently and safely perform ear wax removal using irrigation and instrumentation, adhering to the latest recognised best practice guidelines in professional aural care.
· Reflect on and apply the critical aspects of obtaining consent, meticulous documentation, and managing ongoing ear care effectively.
- Our course is approved by “The CPD Certification Service” a national independent assessor of quality for CPD courses used by the NHS and various universities.
Prerequisites
2) Delegates must be working in the field of Audiology as a Registered Audiologist or under the supervision of a Registered Audiologist, or in a related medical role e.g. ENT or practice nurse.

She has an open and friendly manner of teaching with a unique way of explaining complicated topics that help our students leave with a new found confidence.
Sarah also co-wrote the current BSA wax removal guidelines.
