Full Description: This comprehensive training is perfect for professionals eager to elevate their understanding and skills in handling Tinnitus cases; that may at times be in crisis or distress. The Audiology Academy is supported by two experts in this field, Dr. Robert C MacKinnon from Anglia Ruskin University and Dr. Sophie Gwinnett who is a registered Clinical Psychologist.
The course is predominantly on-line consisting of two hours per week for 7 weeks. An additional mentoring package is also available.

This detailed course will empower you with the ability to:
1 – Apply various skills in the assessment and management of clients with
tinnitus
2 – Evaluate and synthesise information from the evidence base related to
interventions
3 – Assess different sources of information with reference to client assessment
and management options
4 – Assess and manage specific patient groups using knowledge and
understanding of counselling skills, communication skills, and tinnitus
management techniques

Dr Robert C MacKinnon
Robert is Deputy Head of School for the School of Psychology, Sport and Sensory Sciences at Anglia Ruskin University. He is an academic and a clinician (HCPC-registered as both a Clinical Scientist in Audiology and as a Hearing Aid Dispenser). His research interests focus on music-induced and noise-induced tinnitus / hearing loss, vestibular pathologies and hearing screening (including remote healthcare).
Dr Sophie Gwinnett
Sophie is a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about helping people to adjust to significant changes in their physical health and to continue to live rich and meaningful lives despite and with long term conditions. Sophie is trained in a number of different evidence-based psychological therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing.
